These clamps are CNC machined out of 6061 aluminum for a tight tolerance fit, we generally only have about .003 of clearance for better holding power. This is clamp is a must for fork and shock rebuilds. This clamp fits tons of FOX , Rockshox, Manitou, DVO forks and rear shocks.. Please see that it fits your application. These are .620thick
Aluminum is superior to the plastic versions in that it has better holding power (plastic ones struggle to hold tight enough on smaller hole sizes). Plus these are heat resistant. Also these have rigidity to extend out past the vise for more room. Plastic loses holding power quick once they are past the vise jaw.
