2011-2018 BMW K1600GTL Motorcycle Adjustable Rear Passenger Armrest

Unit arrived on time and well packaged with lots of foam insulation and bubble wrap.
Excellent quality abounds. The leather on the actual armrests is a perfect match with the black leather on my 2022 BMW K1600GTL. The silver plastic side covers also match the bike perfectly so nothing looks 'aftermarket'. The frame is a heavy guage steel and the paint is uniform and gloss black.
I followed the only video I could find that was in Japanese, and just turned the volume off. Very simple if you are even remotely handy with tools. Remove the side and top boxes and some screws to get to the mounting location.
The video shows very plainly the locations on either side where you have to cut the plastic (not really visible once reassembled - so you don't even have to worry if you don't make the cuts factory perfect looking!) Once you've cut and trimmed the openings to allow the steel frame to sit perfectly, it's just a question of installing 4 bolts to mount it. Only issue I had with the install is that there is no hardware included for the 4 mounting holes. Thankfully, the front two are reused from the disassembly process. The rear two I had to find some suitable bolts and also had to tap threads into the existing mounting holes. At least the holes are there and all you have to do is tap them. This step is also in the installation video.
Once installed you can't really tell them from the $1750 BMW ones they want to sell you at the dealer (I just purchased the bike about 4 weeks ago and asked about them). These say on the website they are for the 2016-2018 model. Mine is a 2022. I don't know if that makes much difference, but on mine, the clearance for the removal of the side boxes is minimal. You can still remove them, but I would have like to have more clearance.
Pretty easy install, Less than 1/3 the price of OEM (and that's without the install fee!), they look exactly the same as OEM, and my wife absolutely loves them!!!
