We all know about the siphon principle, which is used in continuous ink supply systems. When installing a continuous ink supply system, we must pay attention to the level of the outer cartridge. If the liquid level of the outer cartridge is lower than the printhead position, the ink inside the printhead will be negative pressure, if this negative pressure is greater than the power provided to the ink nozzle mechanism, the printer will not work properly. Conversely, if the liquid level of the outer cartridge is too high, the pressure on the printhead will increase, it will be easy to cause waste of ink, or more seriously damage the circuit board or mechanical parts of the printer, causing damage to the printer.
In general, the liquid level of the outer cartridge should be controlled slightly below the printhead part, but must be lower than the top of the inner cartridge. The appropriate level will also need to be determined by adjustment in use.
When installing the continuous supply, in order to avoid damage to the printer by overflowing waste ink, we should also lead the waste ink tube in the printer, first of all, the external waste ink cartridge should be placed lower, while ensuring that the newly added waste ink tube does not exceed the height of the printhead. In addition, the external waste cartridge should never be sealed, but should be connected to the atmosphere. This will better protect our machines.
